12X6 piece of heavy patterned paper (Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday Sunday)
Large letter about an 1 1/2 (Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday Monday)
Large Round or Scalloped Sticker (October Afternoon Cherry Hill Stickers)
Scalloped Edge 6X2 strip of heavy paper (Pink Paislee yellow scalloped paper)
I started out with the Cosmo Cricket paper in the June kit...
I cut it down to 6 X 12 and then folded the sides in three inches on each side so I ended up with a 6X6 card. Since the paper is double sided, I put the green ledger paper side on the inside.
Next I cut a 12 X 1 1/2 inch strip of the scalloped yellow check paper
Wrap it around the card and fold it over the top side so the seem is on top forming a band. The seem will not quite touch. You want the band tight enough to stay on but loose enough to side off without a fight.
Now adhere the letter to the center piece and then adhere the monogram center piece to either side of the band (making sure you only put glue where the center sticker is going to cover)
You could certainly make it a photo card and put a picture! That would be super cute! But you also have the lines of the paper to use as a guide to write a message too!
Thanks J! And here is another version with round gates. You just use a big circle something or another to trace and cut the gate folds to half circles. I used a 45 record to make my circles.
I'm also going to post a little mini tutorial on the fan fold flower we were talking about in the chat room but I did it a little differently...it may work out better. Kim had wanted to use that instead of the monogram on her card.
I love LOVE the cards I am seeing so far.LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
It takes a bit for me to post a comment, though. lol... it's like the computer regulator is just ready for me to say something bad. ehehehe MUWAHAHAHAHAHAH
B, that would be perfect! i tried to find instructions this a.m., but was in a bit of a hurry, so didn't really devote much time to it. having a custom envelope would be adorable-squared!!

Now we are gonna make the monogram center to hold the band together
Cut out one of the stickers from the October Afternoon set. I used the big round one. We are cutting it out so the sticky part is not exposed.
You could also use some thick patterned paper or cardstock for this.

Making the monogram

You could certainly use a thicker or rubon letter for this.

I think I am going to find online instructions on how to make your own custom envelope...and share it here.
That way you can color coordinate with your card and make it to whatever size you need it to be.
