1. Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
I was born in St. Louis, grew up in Bloomfield (small town in the bootheel of MO) and have been living in St. Louis now for 5years. I love it here!
2. What is your day job? What would be your dream job?
My day job is inside sales/account manager for a label manufacturing facility. You know those labels that are wrapped around the Propel bottles? That is one of my big accounts. I help them with their design of the label and promotions.
Everyone should know my dream job by now. Haha Does Creative Café ring a bell? I would love to own a store where one side is a mini café with cupcakes, muffins, coffee, etc. Then the other side is a scrapbook store with plenty of huge tables that people can come in, rock out and get creative.
3. Do you have any children and/or pets?
Austin and I have one child. She just happens to be covered in fur and walks on all fours. Oh and she is now 77 yrs old. Haha Her name is Miya
4. What is something interesting about you that most people do not know?
People out there in blog land and haven’t hung out with me may not know that I am very VERY loyal. I am loyal to a fault, actually. I really do need to be in the mob. That is how loyal I am. But when I don’t get it in return, I get really disappointed in that person. Also, they will not be in my very tight circle of friends anymore.
5. What got you into scrapbooking and paper crafting? How long have you been paper crafting?
My mom and boyfriend got me into scrapbooking around 4 years ago. My mom has (what we call) a SCRAPSTORE in her basement. And she would say, Beth go down there and pick out a few things and make something…see if you like it. Well, I would go down there and get so overwhelmed that I put it off for like a year. Finally, Austin made me start. Lol And the rest is history. Now, Austin is always coming home with something new for me to use in my scrapping room. He is very supportive. He actually wants me to make a lot of $$ in it, so he can quit his job. Haha
6. What are your absolute fave products to use on your pages that you just can't do without?
I love to use lots of vintage items right now. Unique finds, buttons, lace…I am in such a vintage kick at this time.
7. Where do you do your scrapbooking? Is your scrap space organized or unorganized?
I have one whole wall (corner to corner) in our master bedroom that is termed ‘my scrap station’. Lol And it is organized after I clean, but when I go on scrap marathons (days and days of creating like mad), no..it won’t be organized at all.
8. What do you usually take photographs of?
My boyfriend, my family, and me. I like to take photos of everything we are doing at the time. Camping, going to the lake, wineries…everything.
9. How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
Going back to what someone termed me once: grungy funk
10. Do you have any scrappy habits (for example: listening to certain music, snacks, drinks, the order you scrap it, etc.)?
DEFINITELY!!! I got to have my Pandora going and love to drink wine while I scrap. I don’t ever snack while I create. I don’t know why, but just have recently realized (after hearing a lot of people do) that I don’t snack at all.
12. What is your favorite thing about Vintage Plum?
It’s my second family now.
Vintage Plums April kit had some fun crepe paper in it. So today I thought I would show you a few cool little tricks to use your crepe paper.
Creating a ruffle :
Make quarter inch stiches evenly space down the center of your crepe paper.
When you've stitched to the end of your crepe paper begin to push your paper backwards gathering it together. When you have it gathered knot the end. For an even fancier look you can stich a ribbon down the middle.
Creating mini rosettes:
Fold your crepe paper in half making sure to crease the fold.
Stitch your crepe paper the same way you did with the ruffle except keep your stitches along the crease.
Gather your paper leaving string at both ends.
Knot your string together to secure.
Cut off the excess string. Spread your crepe paper out to form your rosette.
Crepe paper fringe garland:
Cut two pieces of crepe paper. Cut quarter inch slits along both pieces.
Glue or stitch the creased edges together.
Ruffle the slit edges until you get look you like.

Hi all!
Get those fab bookmarks out that you made last Tuesday and get ready to pair it up with your very own altered vintage book.
I have had a few people ask me what you can do with these after you 'pretty' them up.
Well, you can make it a mini album with pics, journal, book of inspiration. My first one is a book of inspiration. I put paper. ribbons, fabric swatches, poems, quotes...anything goes!
You guys have seen my example, but here it is again for any newbies out there joining us:

I used goodies from the VP April Kit.
So, what you need is:
hardback vintage book
various papers, ribbons and embellies you want to add
cupcake liner (optional)
sharp razor blade (if your book is thin enough to take the middle portion of the cover out)
rings to bind
crop-a-dile or paper piercer
Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! This is going to be so much fun !

Pictures are coming! Jenny's putting them on here for me!
Here is another idea for reusing packaging. I have been saving the plastic containers that our strawberries come in. I looked at them one day, and thought, "Those would be so cute with ribbon woven through them and a fun topper!" So that's what I did. I made this one with papers from the April kit. I also wove ribbon through the sides. I made this for my son's pre-school teacher. I am going to roll a tea towel and put it in here I think with other small goodies. I also think it would be cute sitting out with the inside of the lid finished with something. Maybe with your little girl's hairbows or small toys in it! The ideas are endless! Just one more way to keep our earth greener and our days a little brighter!

On another note, this is my last week as a guest designer and my last blog post. I have had a blast this month. Thank you to everyone at Vintage Plum for all the kind words, encouragement and the opportunity to share with you all! I love this place!
