Here’s a sneak peek of our April 2009 kit, Hopscotch. This kit was partially inspired by Sasha Obama’s pink and orange inauguration attire. Those two colors, coupled with gray and yellow, make Hopscotch a trendy kit for all your Spring scrapping. This kit is also reminiscent of days in grade school and brings back memories of recess and free time. Our two exclusive papers, Playground and Potsy, continue this color trend, as well as, overall theme.

We're looking forward to Hopscotch's release on April 10th, and we hope you are too!

Your challenge is to make a project without using any black or white.

During that entire week, all forum members will be able to vote for their favorites (you can vote for more than one) and the project that receives the most votes by Sunday at 8pm cst will be the winner of that challenge. The winner will have their name and project displayed in a special place.
We will also do a random drawing at the close of the contest and one lucky contestant will win a $5.00 gift certificate to our store. Please note that there is only one entry per person for the drawing even if you entered more than one project.

How is everyone's week so far? Do tell!!
Hey!! This is my very first "official" post as part of the DT on the VP!! Can I getta woot woot! hahah
Anyhoo... I have some fun news for you crazy cats!
Let's all make altered vintage books next month during one of the Creative Cafes!! I am going to use the April VP kit...hehehe I sooo can't wait!! Sound good? Or are you wondering what Creative Cafe is? (haha)
Well, here is a recap found under 'April Happenings':
- Tuesday nights we will be starting a new event called Creative Cafe. Every Tuesday night we will present you with a step by step project and lots of chatty fun! There will even be a prize randomly drawn from those who participate!
Does this sound fun or what?! (don't say 'what' or.....ELSE!!
)
So, go out right now and hit some antique shops!!! I said NOW!!
Ok..well, it's 8:20pm my time..I guess you can wait until they are opened. heeeeeeeeeeee... yes, I am way too hyper to be having to go to bed in 30!
First off...I did not have to spend over $6.00 on any one book...and most of the books I picked up were way lower than that. But, the beautiful green one, I did spend $6.00 on it. Here are some pics of books that I picked up on my antiquing ventures:
Most I bought were $3-4. You will find ALOT that are over $25...and I would say not to get them! lol..unless you really want to and THEN I would advise NOT to alter them...and THEN.. you are back to square one! haha
I found ones in which I really liked the colors and/or there was an image on the cover that I wanted to showcase. Like the furthest left green one. I hope to do something around that bird on the front when I alter it.
The book on the right is the one I used to make this:
I knew when I saw this one that I wanted to use greens and oranges.
It is up to you if you want to add some cupcake liners. I only added two, but will probably add more this next round.
Please holla if you have any questions. I so hope you guys will join me April 28th. And, I will have some vintage goodness to give away, as well.
Happy Wednesday everyone! Have a lovely creative day!
